Has anyone tried Trumpette socks and why are they so expensive?

I went to a Mom2Mom sale and got a box of socks trumpet for $ 8. I thought they were cute but expensive for a few pairs of baby socks. I went there site and they would like $ 25 because there are socks ... OMG really for 3 pairs of socks.

Like the other two said, its just because they are cute. Nothing special about them, they do not stay miraculously on the baby's feet and are always susceptible to being eaten by the demon sock in the washer.
